The Consulate General of India in Dubai is happy to bring out this
publication containing postage stamps issued in honour of the Father of the
Nation Mahatma Gandhi. It is appropriate that the publication is being
released on the Birth Anniversary of Gandhiji. On this occasion, I would
like to pay special tribute to the painstaking labour of love of
Mr. Ole-Fredrik Olsen, who has devoted his energy and time in collecting
the stamps included in this publication. The collection demonstrates that
Gandhiji's life and work transcend national boundaries and are of universal
significance. It is my rope that this publication will serve to demonstrate the
enduring appeal of one of the greatest figures that the world has ever seen.
